  12. What's new in HTML mode 2.1.4
  13. • The package Better Templates is turned off in HTML mode because of 
  14.   incompatibility. (Only in Alpha 7.1 and above.)
  15. • Added support for iCab.
  16. • Fixed problem with translation of ¡ and ¿.
  17. • Alpha looks for more than one <!-- LASTMODIFIED --> when saving.
  18. • Some few changes to the attributes of some elements according to errata
  19.   of the HTML 4.0 specification.
  20. • A few other minor bug fixes.

  23. • In the prefs dialog "Attributes…" the settings in the two checkboxes 
  24. weren't saved between sessions. Fixed!

  27. • When including the same include file more than once in a document, Alpha 
  28. thought there was an infinite loop of includes. Fixed!

  31. • HTML mode now recognizes the prefs variable indentationAmount and 
  32. doesn't just indent with tabs.

  35. • Added support for HTML 4.0.
  36. • The Packages menu is gone. Global preferences for which elements 
  37. and attributes to use are set using 'Attributes...' in the Preferences 
  38. submenu.
  39. • The way to choose which attributes to be asked about has been 
  40. modified and simplified (I hope).
  41. • The event handlers are treated in the same way as other attributes. 
  42. The setting 'Include event handlers in attribute dialogs' is gone.
  43. • A document type declaration can now be inserted when creating a new 
  44. document. This document type declaration is used by HTML mode to 
  45. determine which elements and attributes are allowed.
  46. • Relative links in dynamically included 
  47. files can now be built when the files are included. No need anymore 
  48. to use absolute links in the included files.
  49. • Recursive including of files is now supported. One file can include 
  50. another file which includes another file which...
  51. • Include tags can now be pasted from the home page windows.
  52. • By default 'Insert include tags' only inserts the tags and not the 
  53. file. This behavior can be changed in the preferences.
  54. • Added many new character entities. Key bindings for the entities 
  55. can now be defined.
  56. • Removed 'Word complete' and the various tab functions from the 
  57. Editing submenu. The functionality is still there! HTML mode now uses 
  58. global functions for this. If you want to modify the key bindings for 
  59. these functions, this is now done using Config -> Global -> 
  60. Special Keys...
  61. • In Alpha 7.0 word completion now requires that Elec Completions 
  62. in activated in the Packages submenu. In Alpha 7.1 it requires 
  63. that Elec Completions is checked in the dialog Config -> Global -> 
  64. Menus and Features...
  65. • Cmd-double-clicking on HREF="file#anchor" now makes Alpha jump to 
  66. the anchor.
  67. • Added electric completions to JavaScript mode. (They also work in 
  68. HTML mode.)
  69. • Tranformation of all tags to uppercase or lowercase.
  70. • To save your ears Alpha now only beeps for the first attribute when 
  71. using the status bar.
  72. • Alpha can also flash the status bar when asking for attributes.
  73. • Setting for case sensitive link checking now also applies to Big 
  74. Brother.
  75. • Chosing a new browser now also sends the window to the browser 
  76. unless the option key is pressed.
  77. • Changed the key binding for 'New Document' to make it the same as in 
  78. other modes.
  79. • Changed default menu icons.
  80. • The tab marks are now called template stops, which is the term used 
  81. elsewhere in Alpha.
